Transverse momentum broadening of DIS multiple-pion events with CLAS at Jefferson lab
ORAL
Abstract
This analysis investigates the transverse momentum broadening observed in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) events with multiple-pion final states. Utilizing data collected at Jefferson Lab, USA. The experiment exposed D2, C, Fe, and Pb targets to a 5.014 GeV electron beam. By comparing the events in D2 with the events in C, Fe, and Pb it is possible to obtain information of the effect of the nuclear media in the hadronization process. The analysis focused on events with one and two positive pions detected in the final state. The results indicate dependencies on the number of produced pions, the atomic mass number, and the fraction of energy carried by the hadrons.
