Pion Structure at Large x in Spectral Function Approach
ORAL
Abstract
We present the result of our calculation of pion partonic distribution at large x within the spectral function approach. In this approach, the pion structure is modeled as a convolution of q\bar q valence quark cluster embedded in the residual mean field of the pion. The parameters of the residual field are evaluated by comparing the calculated PDF with the soft component of q \bar q cluster with the peaking properties of x-weighted valence quark distribution at 0.3 < x < 0.5. For the high x domain (0.6-1), we included the contribution from hard q\bar q interaction which is generated through the hard-gluon exchange. We present the comparison of our calculations with the recent extraction of pion PDFs at large x and discuss the role of the hard interaction in the generation of the high x part of the pion PDF.
