The Landscape of Future Detector Technologies for Accelerator Based Experiments
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
New discoveries in physics are often enbaled by advances in detector technologies. Several major detector upgrades and new experiments are in the works for accelerator experiments. Recent advances in detector technologies look to measure position, timing, and energy with unprecendented precision. Additionally, detector systems including electrical services and mechanics are pushing to achieve lower and lower mass detectors. The trends in these technological advances for the current planned experiments will be discussed. These technologies, however, are still limited. The challenges that still exist and some possible new directions in detector technologies will be explored.
