Missing Momentum and Thermal Relic Dark Matter Discovery: The Design and Prospects of the Light Dark Matter eXperiment (LDMX)

ORAL

Abstract

The Light Dark Matter eXperiment (LDMX) is a proposed, fixed-target, electron beam experiment to search for thermal relic dark matter. It is designed to detect the presence of dark sector particles through the accurate measurement of missing energy and momentum determined from precision tracking and calorimetery. In this talk we will discuss the design and propsects of the experiment, as well as plans for early measurements, which will use the 8 GeV electron beam from SLAC's LCLS-II light source.
