Solving the binary BHs formation mystery with Gaussianised correlations
ORAL
Abstract
Observations of coalescing black-hole binaries have taught us about the population of stellar-mass black holes in the Universe. Previous studies have also found significant correlations between pairs of parameters governing these populations. Here I introduce a new method, inspired by the power and flexibility of ‘normalizing flows’, able to simultaneously capture and model the structure of correlations across the whole population without limiting itself to pre-defined pairs of parameters. Finally, I will present our initial results and their astrophysical applications.
