Recent Results from High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) Gamma-Ray Observatory

Abstract

The High-Altitude Water Cherenkov observatory is a very-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray observatory in Mexico, surveying the northern gamma-ray sky above 300 GeV. HAWC was recently finished its fifth pass (Pass5) of reconstruction using newly updated algorithms. With the Pass5 update, the low energy sensitivity increased, and angular resolution was improved. Using more than six years of data collected so far, HAWC has already made several surprising discoveries, such as a new extended gamma-ray source class "TeV halos," the discovery of VHE energy particle acceleration powered by the jets of the microquasar SS433, and more than hundred TeV gamma rays from star-forming region Cygnus OB2. In this talk, I will show recent results from HAWC galactic and extragalactic gamma-ray analysis, including updated VHE gamma-ray sky survey, newly detected binary in gamma rays, a unique view of the Galactic Center, long-term observation of nearby Active Galactic Nuclei, and collaborative work with other observatories.
