Two-nucleon scattering on quantum computer
ORAL
Abstract
Quantum computing is a new and promising tool in nuclear physics. In the present NISQ era, noise mitigation is crucial for quantum algorithms to work. I will be talking about the results of our work which uses the quantum algorithms Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) and Quantum Subspace Expansion (QSE) to calculate two nucleon phase shifts starting from the ground state energy and wavefunction of the deuteron. I will also talk about the various noise mitigation techniques that we employed to deal with noise present in contemporary quantum hardware.
