Improved IceCube angular reconstruction
ORAL
Abstract
The IceCube Neutrino Observatory instruments a cubic-kilometer of South Pole ice with over 5000 photmultiplier tubes (PMT). A primary science driver for IceCube is to discover the sources of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos, sources that are now beginning to come to light. Due to the sparsity of the PMTs, the inhomogenous nature of the ice, and depending on the neutrino interaction channel event reconstruction can be a challenge in IceCube. This talk will highlight recent improvements that allow more accurate directional reconstruction of IceCube events.
