Responsible AI: Combatting Blind Faith in Machine Learning
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
Have you given thought to the AI and machine learning that makes a myriad of decisions about you every day and whether this AI is built ethically and safely? Sometimes referred to as ‘weapons of math destruction’, poorly developed AI models exhibit bias, uncertainty, and safety issues. A lack of standards for responsible development of AI is an issue for all. A physics mindset can help balance the far too rapid advancement in software engineering and cloud/machine computation which exacerbates the issue. Please join Dr. Scott Zoldi, theoretical physicist, and the chief analytics officer of FICO who will discuss how responsible AI models can be built to be robust, interpretable, ethical and auditable.
