Studying the impact of heuristic data cuts on compact binary coalescence gravitational wave detection range in coherent searches.

Abstract
The PyGRB data analysis pipeline studies data collected by Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors in combination with gamma-ray burst (GRB) observations to search for compact binary coalescence gravitational waves coincident with GRBs. This project aims to determine the impact of potential improvements to heuristic data cuts designed to reduce the impact of transient noise in PyGRB searches on the detection range of these PyGRB searches when using data from the third observing run for these instruments. The two approaches used were altering the veto definer file, which is used to cut the data that is believed to include transient noise, and altering the detection range calculations used for missed injections in our workflow to better account for data sections that contain transient noise.
