User-testing documentation for the 2021 CMS Open Data Workshop
POSTER
Abstract
The CMS experiment has made over 2 petabytes of data available to anyone through the CERN Open Data Portal. These data can be used for educational purposes or for real scientific analysis. In 2020, the CMS DPOA (Data Preservation and Open Access) group held the first-of-its-kind, Open Data Workshop (virtual) for anyone interested in accessing and analyzing these data. This workshop was run a second time in July 2021, but with the benefit of experience, much of the structure of the workshop and the documentation was reworked. In this poster, I give an overview of the workshop and my role as a tester and contributor to the documentation. I offer my perspective as someone who is new to this field and share some information on upcoming events.
