Probing exotic B decays and other low mass resonances using CMS data scouting
ORAL
Abstract
Enabled by the novel technique of data scouting, CMS reach for low mass resonances has improved significantly. In this talk, we present the first search for a light scalar arising from the decay of a B hadron at CMS. We also highlight other low-mass resonance searches performed in the dimuon, dijet, and multijet channels using scouting. Lastly, we discuss other new searches possible by scouting and also show using current results and sensitivity studies that CMS reach for B decays are competitive with LHCb and Belle II.
