COFFEE_KLATCH · Invited
Abstract
QuarkNet is a long-term teacher professional development program that immerses teachers in cutting-edge physics research and supports them in developing instructional strategies that bring authentic scientific and engineering practices into their high school classrooms. QuarkNet began in 1998, and continues to support collaborations between physics teachers and mentor physicists at over 50 centers at universities and national labs across the United States today. This talk will describe some of the experiences, resources, and strategies that QuarkNet provides for high school teachers to formally infuse 21st century physics into the curriculum.
