The Matter-Antimatter Asymmetry from Inflationary Gravity Waves
COFFEE_KLATCH · Invited
Abstract
We demonstrate for the first time a connection between two important numbers in physics: The baryon asymmetry index and the amplidute of density perturbations necessary for galaxy formation. This connection is made explicit during the period of cosmic inflation; which generates the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry from the presence of gravity waves. This mechanism is generic, as inflation always predicts gravity waves. Moreover, all three Sakharov conditions are beautifully interconnected and satisfied during inflation. We will also explore the connection of this mechanism to String Theory.
