High Stability Mechanical Frequency Sensing Beyond the Linear Regime
ORAL
Abstract
We demonstrate a method to mitigate amplitude-to-frequency noise conversion in a thin-film mechanical frequency sensor operating with significant Duffing nonlinearity. Our sensor surpassed the established sensitivity limit imposed by this nonlinearity. This finding challenges the field's avoidance of increasing the amplitude of mechanical sensors into the nonlinear regime.
