Running of the CP Violating Theta Term
ORAL
Abstract
In quantum field theory, couplings between fields depend on the energy scale of the process. For instance, it is well known that the strength of the interaction between two electrically charged particles changes based on the energy of their interaction. However, different studies of magnetic coupling have produced different results. A recent field strength formulation of quantum electrodynamics has been used to reconcile these conflicting results. I will introduce these methods and discuss how they might be used to determine the running of the CP violating theta term.
