Determining the excited state He-4 0-2+ charge form factor.

Recent precision electron-scattering measurements of the 0-1+ to 0-2+ excitation of the Helium-4 nucleus at the Mainz microtron are in disagreement with predictions from the latest chiral effective field theory calculations. A new experiment at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) will measure electron scattering off of Helium-4 targets while simultaneously measuring the recoiling Helium-4 nuclei. In this presentation I will discuss progress in determining the feasibility of measuring the 0-2+ excited state using JLab's CLAS12 and ALERT detectors.
