Quantum Computing of a Nuclear Lattice Model
POSTER
Abstract
We simulate a nucleus with four nucleons on a 2x2x2 lattice using three qubits per nucleon. We map the Hamiltonian from Pionless Effective Field Theory on a lattice onto the quantum computer. With the position of one nucleon fixed, only nine qubits are needed to simulate interactions of all the nucleons. Even with only nine qubits, we obtain a bound state, but the binding energy is not close to experimental values.
