Investigation of the Spatial Gluonic Distribution of Helium-4 Nucleus
POSTER
Abstract
Phi meson electroproduction off a Helium-4 target will be measured through deeply virtual meson production (DVMP) at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility using the CLAS12 and ALERT detectors at Jefferson Lab in late 2024. The spatial gluon density of the Helium-4 will be extracted for the first time by Fourier transforming the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) which will be accessed by measuring a large range of DVMP longitudinal cross-sections. In preparation for the upcoming experiment, monte-carlo simulations of predicted results have been performed and will be discussed. Eventually ,the acceptance of the CLAS12 detector will be calculated ,using the GEANT-based simulation of CLAS12 , from the ratio of reconstructed to generated phi events.
