A Thermodynamic Approach to the Ideal Bose-Einstein Gas and Condensate

POSTER

Abstract

I use the quantum statistics of massive bosons and the "average energy approximation" to derive thermodynamic equations of state of an ideal Bose-Einstein gas. This thermodynamic accurately describes the main features of a Bose-Einstein gas as well as of a phase transition to a condensed state.

Publication: A paper with the same title and abstract has been submitted to the American Journal of Physics. However, I do not wish this to be advertised as AJP now uses double-blind reviewing.
