Abstract

Advanced LIGO's third Observing Run began on April 1st 2019, and the last six months have brought new gravitational wave detections at an unprecedented pace. In this talk, I'll discuss recent highlights of the four-year-old field of gravitational wave astronomy, including LIGO's real-time public alerts and astrophysically interesting candidates such as the likely first-ever observation of a black hole swallowing a neutron star.
