Abstract
On July 4, 2012 the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations at CERN presented the latest results from their searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at the LHC. A particle with mass near 126 GeV is observed in both experiments. In this talk I will discuss the search strategies employed by ATLAS and CMS to investigate various possible Higgs decay modes. I will also describe the properties of the new boson.
